Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise. (Heb. 13:15)

In the season that I am in, sometimes I find it difficult to sacrifice some things. I am in a new marriage, a new ministry, and physically farther from home than I wanted to be at this point in my life. None of these things are bad, but if I am honest with myself, I have days when I just want to tell God that I think I have already given enough. There are some days when I actually do. I wonder how much more I will have to sacrifice when I don’t always get the same in return. If my assumption is correct, I am not the only one who has ever felt this way.

God usually reaches out to me in these moments to remind me that I am not alone. He speaks to me that I am not sacrificing out of myself but out of the sacrifice that Jesus already made. He gave the ultimate sacrifice so we can have the power to give more than we could ever imagine. This doesn’t negate that some days or sacrifices themselves are going to be hard. Instead it shows that he loves us so much that he reaches down in the midst of our pain to give us what we need to get through. Through him, we can offer our lives to God.

Pray for God to show his love in your sacrifices.
