Listen to today’s devo!

Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. (Ps. 91:3)

In the winter of 2019, I had been walking on an African dirt road for a while, heading home, when I noticed a vehicle coming right in front of me. The vehicle was driving faster than usual considering the terrain. A few meters after the vehicle had gone past, I noticed that there in front of me was a thick two-meter-long poisonous snake crushed by the head.

If that vehicle had not been coming from that particular direction, at that specific time, and at that precise speed, I would have been a like bird trapped with nowhere to fly—in front of that deadly snake. Though the vehicle killed the snake, God saved my life that day.

Many times in life, we find ourselves in trap-like situations that can so easily be harmful. However, God is always there like that strange vehicle at the right place, the right time, and the right speed. Spiritually, the grace of the almighty God protects you and me from the traps set by man’s evil intentions or by satanic plots from the kingdom of darkness.

We have an amazing assurance that God saves his own. God watches over his children and ensures their safety at all times. He is always ready to save and to protect. We can live our lives knowing that the invisible God sees everything that is in front of us.

Be alert; God is on patrol to save and to protect.
