Listen to today’s devo!

Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. But as for me, my feet had almost slipped. (Ps. 73:1–2)

Have you ever wondered why people who have no regard for God and who do not live for his purposes seem to have no troubles at all? It seems like their lives are filled with material prosperity, good health, and loving relationships. However, behind the scenes and screens, things are not always peaches and cream.

Everyone has problems. Pain can be easy to hide. Some people can hide their problems and only share about the positive moments throughout their lives. Truth be told, God-honoring people suffer and face many trials and God-less people struggle through life too.

The real issue is how we deal with our lives and the problems when they come our way. The God-honoring psalmist recognized that God is still good to those who remain pure in heart and put God first in their lives. Even when we come close to slipping away into worldly offerings, we can quickly snap out of it and run back to our loving Father in heaven.

As a child, I was usually up to something. Most of the time, I was up to something no good. However, it is important to know, God is always up to something good. When our hearts remain pure, we can lean on God and find a renewed strength to endure whatever circumstances come our way.

Remain pure and trust that our good God will provide.
