The Association of Theological Schools (ATS) voted to give Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University full seminary accreditation. The Seminary has been accredited with the general accreditor for IWU, The Higher Learning Commission (HLC); however, to be accredited with ATS requires a university to have graduated master of divinity (MDiv) students, been accepted as ATS members, and have gone through a successful self-study and site visit.

“Basically, we completed this process in the shortest amount of time a new seminary could,” said Dr. Ken Schenck, Wesley Seminary Dean and professor of New Testament and Christian Ministry.

Wesley Seminary now moves to create a doctor of ministry (DMin) degree. The degree is projected to begin June 2016.
