A landmark meeting of Wesleyans will be held in Panama City, Panama, January 27-29. General Church, regional and local church leaders, and delegates will hold the first-ever International General Conference of The Wesleyan Church. Representatives from the North American General Conference (the United States, Canada, and Global Partners mission fields), the Caribbean General Conference, and the Philippine General Conference of the Church will attend.

The International Conference was created in 2008, when the North American General Conference of The Wesleyan Church recrafted its international structure to reflect the developing maturity of the Church. The new structure also empowered international Wesleyan leaders to more effectively lead the Church in their nation or region.

The January 27-29 conference in Panama will include a meeting of the International Board, legislative sessions, a tour of the Panama Canal, and a communion service held in five languages represented at the conference. Rev. Usman J. Fornah, National Superintendent of The Wesleyan Church in Sierra Leone, West Africa, will give the keynote message at the January 29 closing worship rally.
