Listen to today’s devo!

So they sang praises with gladness and bowed down and worshiped. (2 Chron. 29:30)

Expanded Passage: 2 Chronicles 29:18-19, 27-30

Recently, all of Global Partners’ missionaries and support personnel gathered in one location in Greece for an all-department summit. The event was a lot of work and took a good deal of planning, preparation, communication, time, and cost. Gathering together involved the disruption of hundreds of lives. People had to come from many places around the world, rearrange their normal schedules, and delay decisions and transitions on and off their field of ministry. Schedules and speakers had to align.

As preparations took place, there might have been many moments when people asked, “Is this worth it? Should we be doing this?” But then the day came when everyone gathered in one big room and began to sing together. Glory and praise to God were raised with voices that sometimes do not have the chance to sing where they serve. Support personnel worshiped alongside those they work to serve. The joy in that room was great. Worshiping God together was beautiful and moving.

Hezekiah had led by example and ordered his people to prepare the temple for worship. The work was hard and took significant effort, expense, and energy. Yet, after all the preparations were complete, they came together and sang praises with gladness. The gathering was not easy, but worshiping God as one people was worth it.

Worship God together and find joy.
