[Jesus] was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek. (Heb. 5:10)

Jerry, 39, HAD BEEN A STATE championship wrestler as a teenager. His son Blake, 15, was trying to follow in his father’s footsteps. One rainy afternoon they stopped at “Doc” Randall’s house to talk to the man who had trained Jerry decades before, and also helped to train Jerry’s two older sons. “Do you think you can make a wrestler out of him, Doc? He’s not as strong or as fast as I am” Jerry half-joked, slapping his son on the back. Doc smiled and said, “I’ll do what I can, Jerry. But he’ll probably be the last I ever train. I’m getting too old for this.”

Is there someone in your life—a parent, a coach, or a doctor—you wish would live forever? He or she would always be there for you and for your children and their children, even after your life here is over. God the Father has given us His Son Jesus as a “high priest in the order of Melchizedek.” This means that Jesus has a ministry that lasts forever (see Heb. 7:3). Not only will He stay till the end of your life, He will receive you into His presence afterward. And those you leave behind can experience the same wonderful salvation that you have as they put their trust in Him. Jesus is the Savior who never stops!

Ask Jesus to use your life to extend His salvation to others as well.
