Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. (Ps. 107:1)
LOVE CANNOT END, for God is love. This is what attracts every believer to the resting place of assurance. Some are anxious to embrace His love even before they know just how long-reaching and eternal it is. They only know they long for something stable and real, something they can count on when all else fails. Though we may not completely understand the eternalness of it, being wrapped up in the love of God is where we long to be.
As we move from one day to the next, we are either forging our own way, seeking a perishable love, or fixing our eyes on God and thanking Him for His faithfulness in love, mercy, and goodness. On our own, it’s impossible to redeem our love debt. But when we accept the unending, unconditional love the Father has for us, we are free to give thanks openly and earnestly.
Our failures never put a chink in the armor of God’s unswerving love. We may find loyalty and devotion difficult, but God has by His very nature a constant built into His love for us. We can depend on it, we can boast about it, we can bask in its freedom. He is determined when it comes to loving His children. This is reason to praise Him, even when evil seems to abound.
Be faithful today to offer Him thanks for His generous love.
