We know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus. (2 Cor. 4:14)

“I’M COMING BACK, SON. We’ll be together in our new house.” Little Maxi’s dad always reassured him when they talked on the phone. Daddy was purchasing their next home in a new city. The wait seemed endless, but Maxi had no doubt that Daddy loved him, wanted to be with him, and would return for him.

As Christ-followers, we know that one day we will be raised up to be with Him. Many promises in the Scriptures encourage us with that truth. Jesus comforted His disoriented disciples with this assurance: “I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” (John 14:3). Later, writing to the churches, the apostle Paul dedicated several passages to reassurances that we will be united with Him. In their letters, Peter and John also mentioned our resurrection and the undeniable fact that we will be in the Lord’s presence for all eternity. Each of these passages reminds us that because God loves us, He is making arrangements for us to be with Him.

In this world where others let us down and human love often seems shallow at best, let’s cling to Jesus. When circumstances take a turn for the worse or unexpected change visits us, let’s thank God that He longs to be with us and is making arrangements for that to happen.

Be encouraged today knowing that God loves you and wants to be with you forever.
