Let those who fear the Lord say: “His love endures forever.” (Ps. 118:4)

MILLIONS OF DOLLARS ARE SPENT to distill the positive attributes of a product for advertising and marketing. An effective message can make or break a product’s success. The message needs to be simple; people need to remember it. The message also needs to be trustworthy; the product absolutely must deliver what it says it will. A really effective message will become the first thing that comes to mind when a product is mentioned in advertising or in everyday conversations. If the message works, people will choose to use the product.

David distilled his message about God with the simple phrase, “His love endures forever.” It was a memorable message, and not just because it was often repeated. The message stood out because its truth was proven through experience. God’s love was shown to be consistent in David’s personal life, in Israel’s national life, and in the history of the nations. That is why David confidently encouraged those who heard his psalms to share in that experience of God’s enduring love.

The heart of our testimony as Christians is the truth that God loves us faithfully and completely through Jesus Christ. That is good news, which, if we share it regularly as Christ’s ambassadors, should become the first thing that comes to mind when God is mentioned in our everyday conversations.

Thank God today for three specific ways He shows you His love endures forever.
