Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back. (Mark 13:35)
DO THE END TIMES scare you? The Scriptures are full of images that are far from comforting, and novels describing post-apocalyptic times fuel our fears even further. I wish I could comfort you by telling you not to worry, that everything will be OK. I can’t. I’m not saying the novelists have their finger on what the last days will be like, but I do know that Jesus described a scenario that would give the bravest of us reason to pause. He gave a description of the signs that indicate the last days, and then said, “When these things begin to happen, watch out!”
In the last days, Christians will be persecuted. Jesus said, “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. All men will hate you because of me.” It will be costly and painful to remain true to the Lord.
What are you going to do? Will you be one of those who speak boldly so that everyone will have an opportunity to hear the truth about God, or will you hide your faith to avoid being hurt? Make your decision now and prepare yourself to live out your decision.
Strengthen yourself by spending time with the Lord daily.
