The Follow Tour made another stop this past weekend in the Buffalo, NY area. The Wesleyan Church of Hamburg hosted the regional youth conference event, with over 300 students gathered to worship and answer the call to follow Jesus. The Spirit of God was evident as hundreds of students responded. Sixty students made first time decisions to accept Christ as their Savior, and over 100 rededicated their lives to Him.

Dr. Jim Dunn, General Director of Spiritual Formation for The Wesleyan Church, spoke and gave an invitation to students who felt they were experiencing God’s call on their lives. Forty-eight students answered the call to full-time vocational ministry and 88 students answered the call to serve Jesus in whatever capacity they could. Jeremy Kingsley, founder of OneLife Ministries, was also a guest speaker, and Atlantic, a worship band from Canada, led the worship. The final session saw over 160 students respond to Matthew 16:24, committing to follow Jesus.

One unique feature to this event was on Saturday, when the Follow Tour and The Wesleyan Church of Hamburg hosted a Fall Fest for the community. Rev. Scott Simmons, director of youth ministries for the Spiritual Formation department, said it was a “great time of games, activities, and giveaways.” He adds, “This was a great opportunity for the students attending the Follow Tour to serve and to give back, as well as for the church to connect with the community.”

The Spiritual Formation Department and the Wesleyan Youth division would like to thank Kevin Beers, pastor of student ministries, and the entire Hamburg church staff for hosting the event and for providing great leadership and support to the Follow tour. The next Tour stop is scheduled for November 4-5 at Kentwood Community Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. And simultaneously the Tour is joining Bethany Bible College and their Encounter student weekend. Go to www.mywycon.com to register and to get more details.
