Lonnie E. Galyon, Sr., age 89, district superintendent emeritus of the Tennessee District of The Wesleyan Church, died on November 19, 2014. He lived in Rossville, Ga, at the time of his death. A veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II, he served in the ministry for 65 years. In addition to 16 years as district superintendent, he was a pastor and general evangelist of The Wesleyan Church.
His wife of 68 years, Marell Galyon, preceded him in death. He is survived by one son, two daughters, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters.
