On Monday, May 18, 2026, the General Conference of The Wesleyan Church elected Reverend Michael Skor to the newly created office of assistant General Superintendent for The Wesleyan Church. He had been nominated for that post by newly elected General Superintendent Jim Dunn and will lead Education and Clergy Development. The election is for a four-year term and will begin at the rise of the General Conference on Wednesday.
Skor says, “I am committed to serving alongside our General Superintendent and leaders across our global church so that, together, we move the kingdom forward. My passion is clear: to empower, encourage and equip local churches to reach spiritually lost people, first and foremost. We believe in a gospel that completely transforms lives. Holiness is not abstract. It is the Spirit-filled life, shaping people who love deeply, live distinctly and walk courageously. This is our calling: to be ONE people marked by grace, formed in holiness and sent into the world with ONE purpose.”
Skor earned a Bachelor of Arts at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and a Master of Divinity from Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion, Indiana. Skor serves as the district superintendent of the Pacific Southwest District of The Wesleyan Church. During his tenure, the district has experienced significant momentum, including the planting of nine new churches and a notable shift from declining to increasing salvation decisions. Prior to this role, Skor served for 12 years as lead pastor of New Hope Church in Williston, North Dakota, alongside his wife, Kiley, also an ordained Wesleyan pastor.
Skor’s ministry experience spans diverse contexts, including rural, suburban and urban church settings, as well as church planting in Sacramento, California. Across every assignment, his leadership has been marked by a commitment to discipleship, community and cultural transformation within the church.
At the core of Skor’s life and leadership is a singular calling: to develop. This passion shapes his approach to ministry — developing a deep love for Jesus, investing in his marriage and family and equipping others to discover and live out full devotion to Christ. He is deeply convinced that spiritual growth happens best in the context of intentional, biblically functioning community.
A lifelong advocate for small group ministry, leadership development and building teams — Skor began leading groups as a teen. Since then, he has served as a small groups pastor, consultant and conference speaker. His work continues to expand into coaching and leadership development, helping individuals and organizations cultivate environments where people can grow spiritually and relationally.
Skor and wife, Kiley, have been married for over three decades and are proud parents of two adult sons, Brendon and Ian.
