The Holy Spirit was showing . . . that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still standing. (Heb. 9:8)

BECAUSE RULES AND REGULATIONS show up in every part of our lives, some people, after they accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, look for them as the way to live as a Christian.

Ann was one of those people. She was searching for someone to tell her what she must do.

One day God provided another believer to come alongside Ann. The disciple explained to Ann that since she was a child of Christ the old tabernacle, which represented the old sinful nature, was no longer standing. The blood of Jesus Christ, the sacrifice for sin, had given her His new nature.

Then she told Ann, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your mind and with all your strength. And love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:30–31). Then she added, “These are the only things you need to do.”

Next she explained that when Christ willingly submitted to death on the cross, He was both the high priest and the offering. Because He was sinless there was no need for a sacrifice for himself. That very act provided the way for us, as believers, to enter in and have fellowship with Him.

Exalt the Lord Jesus today and thank Him. Because of what He did, we are able to approach the throne of grace.

Thank Jesus today that you can go to Him.
