This is what the Lord says: “I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees.” (Isa. 66:12)
THE NEWS REPORTS cause many to believe there is no hope. No way to escape from the daily struggles and clashes between individuals and countries that flash across our television screens. Fears in the form of questions roll off our tongues. When will the fighting and hatred cease? What is going to happen next? Who will help us? But asking questions only makes it harder to escape from the web of fear we bring upon ourselves. But if we turn to the Lord Jesus Christ for answers, an unexplainable peace enters in and wraps its arms around us.
The Lord said in Isaiah 66:12 that He will extend peace to Jerusalem. The time was not right for Jerusalem, but the time is coming when a remnant will experience peace. It was important for the Israelites to focus on the word will because it gave them hope for the future.
But we, as believers, can have that peace today. It is our job to walk in faith, trusting the Lord Jesus for each step. He’s supposed to be our focus. When we keep our eyes, hearts, and minds on Him, He will give us the answers we need to live for Him no matter what’s happening in our world.
Allow the Prince of Peace to enfold you in His everlasting arms as you worship Him today.
Pray for the world in which we live, but rest in His peace.
