#Love Columbus is more than just a hashtag used for social media purposes.

Cypress Wesleyan Church in Galloway, Ohio, has made it a point to love the Columbus area, having begun a campaign during the Christmas season. The idea is to show kindness in intentional ways throughout the community, something that Rev. Ken Murphy and his family have become involved in as well.

Church leaders spearheaded the production of a video explaining what congregants and leaders are doing to bless their community. The video is located on the church’s website, which also features stories from Cypress attendees on how this initiative has impacted them as they give–perhaps as much or more than the people they are trying to bless.

“The stories just keep pouring in and we are so thrilled with the opportunity to share Christ’s love with our community,” said Susan Knight, director of communications at Cypress.

The church plans to continue the #LoveColumbus initiative into 2015.
