Jesus called Melinda “Mindy” Cartwright Dunn, at 44 years, home to heaven at 12:19 AM on November 4, 2013 at the Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice Unit in Greenfield, Ind. She was born on Aug. 5, 1969, in Wheaton, Ill., the daughter of Richard and Carolyn (Finke) Cartwright. She was married to Rev. Dr. James “Jim” A. Dunn.

Husband – Jim; Son – Caleb; and Daughter – Courtney thank the thousands of Christians around the world who have prayed for Mindy and their family as Mindy’s 2-year battle with cancer took an unexpected turn for the worse last week.

Mindy had worked as a Social Worker for the Salvation Army – Indianapolis Division, and for Shares, Inc. of Greenfield. She was most recently a field trainer and service coordinator for ProKids Inc. in Indianapolis. She was a former president of the Greenfield Area Soccer Club, an active volunteer for FUSE, Inc., and a member of Harvest Wesleyan Church in McCordsville, Ind.

Jim and Mindy happily served the Lord together in ministry for thirteen years as lead pastor of Brown’s Chapel Wesleyan Church in Greenfield Indiana; for eight years as the General Director of Spiritual Formation for the Wesleyan Church; and, since 2012, as Executive Director of Church Multiplication and Discipleship for The Wesleyan Church denomination.

Caleb is a Freshman at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana while Courtney is a Junior at Greenfield-Central High School in Greenfield, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at Park Chapel Christian Church, 1176 E. McKenzie Rd., Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, also at Park Chapel Christian Church, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, Ind.
