The Wesleyan Church, through Global Partners and World Hope International, is responding to the earthquake in Mindanao, Philippines on June 8, 2026.
Churches, families, and communities across the affected region are facing significant challenges as they recover from the impact of the disaster. We are grateful for God’s protection over many lives while recognizing the significant needs that remain.
According to reports from church leaders, the earthquake caused extensive damage in the Western Mindanao and Southern Mindanao Districts. Five Wesleyan churches and the Southern Mindanao District Center were destroyed:
- The Wesleyan Church of Mabuhay
- The Wesleyan Church of Lanton
- The Wesleyan Church of Glan
- The Wesleyan Church of Taldaz
- The Wesleyan Church of Matablao
- Southern Mindanao District Center
These congregations are now seeking temporary places to gather for worship while recovery and rebuilding efforts begin.*
How The Wesleyan Church Is Responding
The Wesleyan Church is working closely with General Superintendent Rev. Amos Anteg, district leaders, Global Partners, World Hope International, and local churches to assess needs and provide support.
Through the Global Partners Emergency Relief Fund, gifts help provide emergency assistance, strengthen local relief efforts, and support recovery and rebuilding where needs are greatest.
One of the strengths of our global church is that no one suffers alone. In moments of crisis, we come alongside one another as one family in Christ, offering hope, help, and tangible expressions of God’s love.
