The Lord’s right hand is lifted high; the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things! (Ps. 118:16)

the lord’s right hand is symbolic of His power. When we have God’s power on our side, we have all we need. His strength is adequate for every situation.

My friend told me that many years ago, a doctor diagnosed his son with leukemia. Naturally, it was a dark day as they thought about the morbid possibilities, about their son’s life being shortened, and about possible severe treatments that would sap their son’s strength.

One later test showed that his son was anemic. This was worrisome, because it could mean the situation was getting worse. The doctor said they should wait a month and take the test again. After three consecutive months of poor test results, they determined he might need a bone marrow test.

My friend attended a midweek service in which the pastor read Hebrews 4:12, which says, “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow.” When my friend heard the word marrow, it reminded him that God has power even over the marrow.

He went home and assured his wife their son would be all right. Indeed, the boy survived, graduated high school, and grew to be bigger than his dad. God is bigger than your problems. His right hand is full of power!

Take fresh courage today in the power of God’s mighty right hand.
