I will bring Judah and Israel back from captivity and will rebuild them as they were before. (Jer. 33:7)

Have you ever been on a mission and then found you had lost sight of it? It’s easy to lose focus when dealing with increasing details, time constraints, and lack of help. Our path winds through the hills and valleys of our mission and soon we look back and find we have taken a road we had not intended. Our mission seems far away and unreachable.

We turn back and find, along the way, we have lost our effectiveness. The seeds we planted in a hurry, without thought of purpose, have dried up and lay idle on the ground. We arrive back to our starting place and can barely recognize it. With broken and contrite hearts, we long to start again. But how?

God is the master restorer. He cares about our mission. He placed the dream in our hearts in the first place. He will take us by the hand and help us rebuild our dream, our mission, and our dwelling. When we turn to Him and set aside our agendas, He will return the mission to us. Sometimes it will be as it was before, and sometimes it will be better than it was in the first place. It’s His promise of restoration that helps us refocus and recommit to His ways.

Let Him rebuild your mission, and then return to the divine plan.

Giving God the glory, tell someone today how He guided you back home.
