Decisions made at past General Conferences have helped to shape who we are, where we are and the overall structure of The Wesleyan Church (TWC).
The Wesleyan Church is pleased to announce that Dr. Wayne Schmidt and Rev. Isaac Smith have both been nominated by the General Board for the office of General Superintendent of The Wesleyan Church.

General Conference 2016 is less than two months away, and this quadrennium’s Memorials (resolutions) have been released to the public. Please feel free to read and comment, if you so choose.
Every four years, The Wesleyan Church gathers for General Conference to worship together, to consider pressing issues in the Church, to handle Church business, to elect leaders and to articulate a trajectory for the years ahead.
The title of General Superintendent Emeritus was conferred upon Dr. Thomas Armiger by the 14th General Conference.
On June 8, at General Conference, new General Superintendent Dr. Wayne Schmidt, the other five general officers, and the 24 area representatives on the General Board were installed.
On June 7, at the 2016 General Conference in Buffalo, N.Y., the following area representatives of the General Board of The Wesleyan Church were elected and will serve the Church for the next 4 years.
The title of General Superintendent Emerita was conferred upon Dr. Jo Anne Lyon and she was honored with a special citation. Her personal testimony was moving.
Discussion of Memorials (resolutions) was spirited but loving. The courtesy and wisdom of those asking questions and making comments were beautiful to see. Important business for the kingdom was done.

As General Conference approaches, may the Holy Spirit unleash Wesleyans to be innovative and courageous in doing whatever is necessary to be a Kingdom Force in making disciples, multiplying churches and being a transforming presence.
