EVERYONE IN THE OFFICE knew the boss’s son would someday be taking his father’s place in the company. The father groomed the young man for several years. You could see a prideful glow on his face each time they walked the corridors side by side. He had lived for the day when Junior was old enough to help run the business. After arduous training and systematic promotions, it was time to hand over the key to the executive’s door. Presented with a gold plaque to place on his desk, the son basked in the glory of his new title.
Our Father also has a plan for us to follow in His footsteps. He has a job for us and has invited us to see it through to the ultimate end. He has not left us to our own devices to figure out the ways of righteousness and holiness, but has walked beside us all the way, knowing we need His guidance.
As we understand our place as His children, we reap the benefits of belonging to Him. He patiently shares the secrets for our success so we can stand in the high place He prepared for us. When He deems us worthy of His trust, He exalts us for His glory and for ours, delighting in the response of obedience from the children He loves so much.
Trust each day in the promotion your Father is preparing for you.
