The annual She Leads Conference, a Missio Alliance Summit, will be live-streamed across the country from Pasadena, California, on November 10, 2018. The Sacred Alliance and Wesley Seminary are hosting a satellite venue at College Wesleyan Church in Marion, Indianan, from 12-6 p.m. The Sacred Alliance is “a center for the ministry of reconciliation that is committed to equity and wholeness.”

This year’s theme is Church Together. According to Missio Alliance, the theme is a response to the #metoo and #churchtoo movements, which brought to light some disturbing truths about brokenness between men and women. The Church Together Summit is an opportunity to “name and lament how the world’s story has limited the Church’s imagination,” and to “tell a better story” about God’s restoration work in the world. Scheduled speakers include Mark Labberton, Jo Saxton, Oneya Fennel Okuwobi and a panel of women and men who lead in ministry together.

“We decided to host the event as a way to allow our students, faculty and larger constituency to engage in the conversations that are taking place around issues of women in leadership,” said Dr. Abson Joseph, academic dean of Wesley Seminary. “Given the focus of this year’s gathering, we hope that participants will experience healing, begin to nurture hope and commit to being agents of change as we lament together.”

Who should attend?

  • men who long to lead in a way that honors and empowers women
  • women pursuing God’s call on their lives as ministry leaders
  • all who long for the Church to live out the beauty and power of the gospel
