Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. (Isa. 40:31)

John had a tight morning ROUTINE. He felt it was important to start each working day with a hot shower, a light breakfast, and a quick read of the local newspaper. As the school superintendent in a small Midwestern city, he wanted to stay informed of anything impacting his students and teachers. So he was a bit angry one chilly morning when he stepped outside and didn’t see a newspaper on the driveway. He looked up and down this street, but didn’t see Lance, his paperboy. He silently thought, “I’ll have a word with him at school this morning.” John walked back into his house, still irritated at Lance, but relented when he found the postcard he had taped to his refrigerator: “renewal notice.” He had forgotten to renew his newspaper.

Do you have the spiritual resources you need to overcome sin, to grow in Christ, and to please God in every way? God offers an endless supply of the strength you need to live a righteous and powerful life. But He attaches a condition for the renewal of His strength: you must hope in Him. In other words, you must transfer your dependence from everything else to Him alone. He will never fail you. Learn to trust Him, and you will find yourself walking, running, and soaring just as He promised!

Ask yourself if your hope is in God alone.
