I will strengthen you and help you. (Isa. 41:10)

A MISSIONARY had driven five minutes from his home when terrorists ambushed him. His wife heard the explosion and surmised the situation. She called the police, then stepped outside her home and looked at the mountains that surrounded her. As she prayed for her husband, Psalm 121:1 came to mind: “I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Soon she received a call from the police. Their surveillance plane had spotted the missionary’s truck, and vehicles were en route to rescue him. The man, though badly injured, survived and fully recovered. Later his wife testified to the strength and help she received from God during that experience.

Our Scripture reading today assures us that God is standing at the ready when trouble strikes. There are no limits to His power. Isaiah says God will provide supernatural strength when we stumble in weakness, and lift us up so we can soar like eagles above our problems. Our Savior is able to hold the stars in place and fight all our battles at the same time.

Whatever you’re facing today, know that God can handle it. Approach your problem like the missionary woman did. Step out in faith, raise up your eyes to God, and trust His promises. Strength and help are on the way.

If you have a testimony of how God has strengthened you, share it with someone.
