And he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills. (Ex. 35:31)

Expectantly sipping the delicious smelling coffee before me, I was immediately horrified. As a part-time employee, I had been unaware that salt was placed next to sugar on the table, and I mistakenly flavored my coffee with salt. Much later in a name-brand coffee establishment, I excitedly went to sip a sumptuous pumpkin spice latte, but my experience was somewhat similar. While I was not disgusted by the taste as with coffee flavored with salt, I was quite disappointed at what I tasted. The problem it turned out was that I needed to stir that flavoring around in my coffee since it had all settled to the bottom of my cup.

Bezalel let God fill him with the Spirit of God and with wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and all kinds of skills. When the Holy Spirit is a part of our lives and God equips us for a task, we can trust that the results will be good and eternal. Likewise, it is not enough just to have the Holy Spirit in our lives. We need to let God’s Spirit freely flow and fill every single crevice of our hearts.

If we let him, God will change every part of our lives. When we serve the Lord in the ministry that he leads us to do, others will see God’s character, wisdom, and good workmanship in all we do.

Prayerfully surrender another area of your life to God.
