A beloved former district superintendent with The Wesleyan Church has passed away. Rev. Ronald Glenn Walker, 79, of Fort Gratiot, Mich., died on January 1. Rev. Walker served as a minister with The Wesleyan Church for 42 years, serving in various Michigan cities. He served as the district superintendent of the Wisconsin District for five years.

“Rev. Ron Walker was our Wisconsin District Superintendent from 1993-1998,” said Rev. Dan Bickel, current district superintendent of the Wisconsin District. “He and Eunice came in and modeled love, compassion, faith in God who still works miracles, and a joyful and exuberant outlook on life and ministry. He served the Lord and he served the Wisconsin District faithfully and well in those years on the ‘west side of the pond.’ His life mattered because he loved the Lord and he loved people. We are the beneficiaries of that love.”

Rev. Walker is survived by Eunice, his wife of 59 years; Alan (Daniele) Walker, Tammy (Marshall) Cliff, Gary (Cathy) Walker, and Rev. Ronald (Teri) Walker; 12 grandchildren; a brother, Larry (Carol) Walker; and several nieces and nephews.
