He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. (James 1:18)
AS BELIEVERS IN JESUS, we enjoy a unique position. We are given the ability to persevere under trial, resist temptation, and recognize that every good and perfect gift is from above. Jesus, the perfect gift, is the firstfruits of the resurrection.
Do you know that as believers, we are a kind of firstfruits. Just as Christ was raised from the dead, we, who have been identified with Christ by faith, will be raised at Christ’s second coming. What a glorious day that will be.
The Revelation gives us a vivid picture of the glorious picture that awaits all believers in Christ. When our Lord returns, He will gather up all who profess faith in Him. Having persevered in faith through the trials of this world, we will enter eternity at His side. The bride of Christ, the church, will at last be fully united with her Lord. We will enter the heavenly city with Him, where there will no longer be any tears, or mourning, or death.
Are you part of the body of believers, known as the “bride of Christ,” that will meet Jesus at the trumpet call? Let’s be ready for the wedding when we will be dressed in fine, white linen.
Tell someone about Christ’s resurrection and what it means.
