I will listen to what God the Lord will say; he promises peace to his people, his saints. (Ps. 85:8)

THE PROMISES OF GOD ARE MADE KNOWN to us through His Word, nature, and His Spirit. We are blessed to walk in them every day and discover the wonder of them. That God would promise peace is the ultimate gift. As faithful servants, we are in a position to receive peace in all our circumstances, especially in times of trouble when we need the confidence to endure.

Faithfulness requires hearing from God, and that is perfected only if we practice listening to His voice. Listening requires an act of our will, just like loving and forgiving. In exchange for our obedience, we are privileged to experience the kind of understanding that only God’s peace can bring.

Many distractions will come our way, and many emotions will carry us on a journey so far away that we can’t hear Him. These difficult times are when we must lean in to catch even His whisper. He calls us back to himself for our own good and for His glory. He has so many wonderful things to reveal to us that a lifetime will not be enough to hear it all. Wasting even a moment of communication with Him is a loss He grieves.

Listen, He is calling you back to hear His words of comfort, victory, and, most of all, peace.

List distractions that keep you from listening to God and eliminate them.
