Listen to today’s devo!

Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you.” (Ps. 66:3)

“It’s going to be cancer, and I’m going to handle it,” the Holy Spirit whispered. The next month would be a whirlwind of appointments as we made a treatment plan. And I knew this journey would be both physical and spiritual.

God began revealing himself to me through his Word. I praised and thanked him for being the anchor, strong and steadfast. I praised him for being all-powerful; nothing was too difficult for him. I praised him for being all-knowing, because my cancer did not take him by surprise. Knowing he’s in control of everything provided the joy to submit to his will. His peace and hope continued to give me boldness to share with others what he had done.

Three years and three surgeries later, I was cancer free. Praise the Lord! I can look back and see how God worked behind the scenes before, during, and after the crisis.

The apostle Paul was faced with a “thorn in the flesh.” He pleaded with the Lord to take it away, but he didn’t. Second Corinthians 12:9 says, “My grace is sufficient for you.” Paul goes on to say that he delighted in weaknesses, insults, and hardships because he knew God would always provide what he needed. He will do the same for you today.

Praise God for being all you need right now in life’s journey.
