And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. (Rom. 5:2)

THE WAIT WAS FINALLY OVER! It was Christmas Eve, and the family had gathered together. We opened the gifts as soon as everyone arrived because the kids had been waiting for days to see what was in the boxes under the tree. They smiled and giggled with glee as they opened them. “Who’s this one from?” they would ask each time, looking to see who it was and give them thanks.

Romans 5:1–11 has been like a gift under the tree for me. I had been reading, searching and studying for days, asking the Lord to show me the meaning and truths found in these Scriptures. He made me smile by revealing a great gift in these verses. It was the perfect gift, delivered at just the right time.

Did you know all persons in the Trinity are involved in your salvation? What a gift! First, God designed the plan from the beginning. He decided Jesus, His only Son, would be the sacrifice to take the penalty for our sins. Then Jesus, obedient to death, willingly gave His life so we could have abundant life both now and eternally. Finally, at our salvation, we were given the Holy Spirit, who poured out His love on us and continues to dwell in us. What joy it brings! What a valuable gift!

When you see the number three, thank God for the fullness of salvation.
