Our Mission is to help God's people accept the challenge and experience the blessing of Biblical Stewardship.

Our Vision is to see local churches accomplish the ministry God has called them to fulfill through the stewardship of God's people.

Our Passion is to see all of God's people attending all our Wesleyan churches bringing the whole tithe into the storehouse.

2007 Stewardship Ministries Highlights

  • During the past year 85 local church stewardship seminars (Estate and Financial Planning) were presented with a total of 2,002 people attending and 47 preaching moments on the blessings of biblical stewardship.
  • Through our capital stewardship campaign service (Forward in Faith), Stewardship Ministries assisted four Wesleyan churches in raising a cumulative total of $2,050,000 (Total Victory Goal amount) to $5,035,000 (Total Miracle Goal amount) to build new facilities and debt reduction.
  • $1,883,828 was committed to Wesleyan ministries with department assistance through Wills/Revocable Living Trusts or bequests and $951,210 through contract gifts (Charitable Gift Annuities and Endowment funds).
  • Estate Planning (Will package) service is available at no charge to Wesleyan pastors and their families by contacting Stewardship Ministries. The service is also available to each of our Wesleyan families.
  • Dr Richard Schenck joined the Stewardship Ministries to assist local churches and Wesleyan families with their estate planning needs.
  • The fourth in the biblical stewardship study series, the annual stewardship emphasis month resource kit "Building Kingdom Stewards God Rebuilds" was mailed to over 1,400 local Wesleyan churches. This excellent resource is to help teach Wesleyan congregations practical truths about living life as faithful stewards of the gifts (time, talents, and treasures) of God. The series was also translated into Spanish.

Christian Stewardship Institute (CSI)

Biblical Stewardship is an attitude and a lifestyle in which you acknowledge God's ownership of your life and all you possess. It's the careful, responsible management of these resources in a way that builds the Kingdom, fulfills God's purpose in your life, and brings glory to your Father in heaven. The goal for the CSI is to promote Biblical Stewardship, financial fitness and generous living.

  • The Estate & Planned Giving Workshop will walk you through the steps why and how to establish your last will and testament. Questions as to what is included in my estate, what is probate, why do I need an appointed guardian for my minor children, and who/how much will get the remainder of my estate when I am gone will be answered. If you do not have documents or have documents but need to be updated, you should not miss this workshop!
  • The Financial Workshop will take you through ten financial guide posts. Each of us is at a different point in our lives. Some are just starting out as others are becoming empty nesters. We will also approach the handling of our finances different. You may be a saver or a spender, this workshop will raise some questions on how you handle the gifts God has blessed you with. The workshop will help you develop your financial road map from budgeting, why establish and emergency fund, debt reduction, college funding, and estate planning.
  • Documents Available: Will or Bequest; Revocable Living Trust (RLT)Charitable Gift Annuities (CGA), Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT), Life Estate, and Life Insurance.
  • Free Will Documents for Wesleyan pastors and those who would give a tithe (10%) of their remaining estate to any Wesleyan ministry. (RLT is half price).

Seminar Note-taking Guides and Brochure

We have created note-taking guides for our Financial Planning and Estate Planning seminars along with a full color brochure describing our Financial Planning and Estate Planning seminars along with a full color brochure describing our Financial and Estate Planning services for our Wesleyan families. Through these two seminars it is our desire to promote the principles of biblical stewardship, financial fitness and generous living.

Promotional DVD's for the Christian Stewardship Institute (CSI) and Forward in Faith (FIF)

We have produced a promotional/informational DVD for our Forward in Faith Capital Stewardship ministry. Currently we are in the process of producing a DVD to promote our Financial Planning and Estate Planning seminars. These would be included in our Advanced Preparation Packet for host churches to present to their congregations when promoting these seminars prior to the event. They will also be made available as streaming video on our web site.

Online Estate Planning Documents

We are in the middle stages of creating an online completion form of our Estate Planning Data Guide so families can create a sign-on name and password and complete the form to obtain their Will or Living Trust

Online Giving Services

We have partnered with a new company called Stewardship Technology to provide a comprehensive and cost effective way for our Wesleyan churches, districts and departments to offer online donation services. We were able to negotiate a reduced start up rate for our churches including no charge for churches less than one year old, half price for churches with 50 or less in attendance and for all other churches a one time charge of $195.00 and $29.95 per month. There is also a fee of 1/2 of 1 percent of the total donation amount. We believe many of our church families are accustomed to making financial transactions online and will be very responsive to using this new technology.

We are encouraging churches who choose to take advantage of this service to stress the public act of giving by having those who give online complete and offering envelope or communication card indicating their gift was made online. They can then place the card or envelope in the offering along with the rest of their church family during the offering time. I really believe online giving will make it easier for our Wesleyan families to do the right thing, to support the ministries of the local church on a more regular and consistent basis. We will be promoting this service to each of our churches by direct mail, the Wesleyan Life magazine and on our web site.
