World Hope International is partnering with The Wesleyan Church to respond in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa. Officials have called the impact across the Caribbean “beyond catastrophic,” and many in our Wesleyan family are suffering in its wake. Please pray for the region and join us in the effort at worldhope.org.
Our team is working alongside partners including Haiti Air Ambulance, Medic Corps and LIFT Non-Profit Logistics
to assess damage and deliver critical relief to those affected — providing emergency aid, medical support and resources to Wesleyan churches serving their communities on the front lines.
Reverend Dr. Joel Cumberbatch, General Superintendent of The Wesleyan Holiness Church of the Caribbean, reports extensive damage to our Caribbean Wesleyan College in Jamaica. Many buildings on campus have been completely destroyed. Countless churches and homes have been devastated as well.
In Haiti, significant flooding has taken place. In one community, Petit Goave, there have been at least 20 deaths, including 10 children. As of Friday morning, October 31, 2025, 10 are still missing. One Petit Goave Wesleyan family lost two children. Please pray for the emotional devastation of such a loss.
World Hope exists to bring Hope in hard places. Your generosity is making that a reality for our Wesleyan families and their neighbors in the region. Thank you for standing with us and with the people of the Caribbean in this time of urgent need. Your prayers, compassion and commitment remind us that even in the wake of disaster, the hope of Jesus endures.
Jenn Petersen is president and CEO of World Hope International.
