Indiana Wesleyan University jumped ten spots in U.S. News and World Report list of best regional universities in the Midwest, according to the 2014 rankings of “America’s Best Colleges.”
IWU also cracked the top 10 for the first time on the “Best Value” list for Midwest Regional Universities, coming in at number six.
IWU is tied for 17th in the overall rankings among Midwest Regional Universities, and also tied for 17th on the list of “A+ Schools for B Students” among Midwest Regional Universities. Last year, IWU was 27th on both lists and 11th on the “Best Value” list.
Dr. Keith Newman, CEO of residential education at IWU, commented, “I think it says we’re headed in the right direction. For us to go from 27 to 17 in one year is very significant. But with that said, we want to continue to improve, and I think we will.”
Regional universities, according to U.S. News and World Report, offer a broad scope of undergraduate degrees and some master’s degree programs but few doctoral programs. IWU offers master’s degrees in business, counseling, education, ministry, public affairs, nursing and health sciences. IWU also has doctoral programs in organizational leadership and nursing practice.
