If we endure, we will also reign with him. (2 Tim. 2:12)

ENDURANCE IS THE PRIZE within the race that makes us winners. This is the human quality that reflects God’s faithfulness. He stays the course with us even when we are slow to move or wander off on a tangent. If we practice endurance, we will come closer to the heart of God. His stride meets ours as He partners with us to endure to the end. We take comfort in knowing He is beside us and never leaves us. This is a love that will never falter.

Continually abiding in Him serves His faithfulness, as He cannot turn from himself. If we have the strength of Christ living in us, we will gain the prize that comes from running the race. But actually remaining with Him through all of life’s trials is the way to gain eternal status as His beloved. This is the daily task set before Christians today—to press on faithfully as He has demonstrated to us.

He wants nothing more than to keep us moving toward the prize, and He never fails to make His love and grace available to us. For those who reflect His steadfastness, He holds a special place in the unending reign of His power—the same power we use to run the race. The same power we use to present Christ to the world.

Press through in your circumstance to the end, with God at your side.
